Where are we going?

Posted by Dana on September 11, 2008

I have been absent from the blog lately and am starting up again. Anyone who has been following my blog I apologize. Its been a rough week.

I am often wondering where we, as Americans, are going with our country.  Some are speculating that we are shifting towards a socialist country and other say that we are already there. Many are blaming the Bush administration for getting us into this mess, but I believe that we have been going down this path even before Bush was sworn as President.  The more that people want the government to be involved and “bail” them out of whatever situation they may be in, the more the government becomes involved. Duh…You ask and you shall receive times 10.

Aside from Party affiliations, I do believe we need to have new leaders in Washington that actually give a damn about our economy and not just wanting things better for themselves. I feel that they have lost connections with the rest of us that put in a hard days work just to make ends meet. And why are these big companies being bailed out when their CEO’s and Executives are getting paid over $200K and whatever money these companies do get will trickle down to the ground worker maybe getting $100 dollars out of the deal if not at least being able to keep their jobs while the big wigs are getting way more than they should?

Instead of rescuing Fannie and Freddie for example, why not give the money to people that have the loans through them? If they are not capable of “running” a big business, then why should “we” the Americans bail them out with our tax money and not even have a say as to where the money goes? I pay taxes every single year but when my life goes up in flames, so to speak, then why are the people in Washington not standing by to back me up with “my” money.

Some people may say ” thats what savings accounts are for.” My response to that is why do these big business not have savings accounts to bail their asses out when their companies go up in flames in stead of depending on the government to give them “my” money.  I am so frustrated with Washington making big decisions in reguards to everyone tax money but yet we dont get a say so as to how its dispersed. I know I pretty much repeating myself but I hope everyone gets my point. Things need to turn around and change FAST.  Get a hold of your State Representatives and Congressman or woman and tell them your thoughts. After all they do work for us, the Americans, not for themselves.

Here is Blog that has Ron Pauls predictions about Fannie and Freddie 5 years ago. I truly wished people had listened.

Here is Glenn Becks view of the Fannie and Freddie story .

I’d love to live to see a true multi-party system with legit public campaign financing-THAT’s what you should call your senator about (i.e. Senate Bill 1285, Fair Elections Now Act). In the meantime and in current system, a vote for Ron Paul is like a vote for Ralph was in Y2K or one for Ross Perot in ‘92. That is, a tinkle in a strong wind, a vote for whomever wins.

And if you make >250K a year and really want to fulfill the definition of insanity while taking this country even further down its fascist path, then McSame and Pain are you pair. Sadly such a voter may also be a serious Kool Aid guzzler (Jim Jones & Marshall Applewhite had nothin’ on the GW/DC/KR cult of fear and war profiteering), in some delusionary state that we still live in the ’50s..

and btw, Lyndon Laruche has been foretelling this mess for decades, but he’s even more marginalized in our corporate-run campaigns and media than Ron Paul. FACT: McCain’s been a major player in deregulation and directly FACILITATED greed-based corruption as chair of commerce. This is a predictable outcome of lack of $market oversight, oh yeah, like the fallacy that is trickle down economics. And now Mick et al believe he’ll be the bright shining light of reform. lol to tears..

Look, I’ll admit Mc Cain isn’t the greatest. But RON PAUL, who’s he.
But now Obama’s Socialism and Marxism is the stuff of the past too. there regulation like Fanny May and Freddy Mac… Socialist scams.
Get the government out of my wallet, home, schools, Companies and rights is a good start. Utopian societies running companies is just not what the founding fathers had in mind. They new we would make mistakes. That is why our constitution is so loose. But the bill of rights is so strict. As long as we have the basic Rights and Freedoms we can change course. Socialism and Marxism has to in practice have to restrict these. They are the slow march to decline. Unable to change course, they sell a bad bill of goods that Government can solve all your ills. This is proven false by history. Every utopian striving society like Socialism has failed, some killing tens of MILLIONS in doing so. Free markets, and as little government as possible is not Zen but it gives all people the chance to strive in the pursuit of a better life.
It cannot be given by government, but the hope and right to pusue must be defended by it.
So MR. Obama can by offering the governments eternal aid only offer Socialism in place of Democracy as the cure.
    No Thanks I’ll pass.
    Ron Paul, who’s Ron Paul?
