Sara Palin sells former Alaska Governor’s Jet on E-bay.

Some people may have heard or even read about this but I stumbled upon it and was really happy at how Sara Palin is connected with the people of Alaska. Jet for sale is an article that goes more into depth on this matter. She was sticking to one of her campaingn promises saying:” She is getting rid of the jet, which Mr. Murkowski, provoking a public backlash, bought against the wishes of the Legislature.”
More and more I am finding articles and realizing that she has more in common with the rest of us than does Obama and his crew. This was a very smart move for McCain and I truly believe he couldn’t have found a better running mate.

She got rid of the jet because it was a political albatross left by the previous governor. Every gubernatorial candidate in the race promised to get rid of it. Politically, she really had no choice in the matter.
You need to know, as the story notes, that Gov. Frank Murkowski bought the jet using a slush fund after both the feds and the state legislature refused to fund it. Which goes a long way in explaining why Gov. Murkowski, a Republican, went into the Republican primary against Palin as an incumbent with a <19% approval rating, lower than every other state’s governor except one (the one in the midwest that was indicted and found guilty of a felony in office, forgot who). Murkowski came in a distant 3rd in the Republican primary as a result of the jet fiasco and other issues.

now they are saying it’s an urban myth ???? that a republican donor bought it at a discount???? This is confusing.

The state had it listed on eBay for a while (maybe up to a year – not sure) but it didn’t sell. It was an older second hand jet, so not much interest… A Republican donor offered to help out and bought the jet after it was delisted from eBay, at substantially less than the asking price. He now uses it to transport sport hunters as part of a business providing guided hunting in Siberia.
