Fire to close to home

I just wanted to take a few minutes to spread the word, to anyone remotely interesting in what I have to say, about a fire that took place Wednesday afternoon.
At around 4:30pm I received a call from Tim ( hubby) asking me where the fire was. I just flat out told him,” I didn’t know there was a fire.” in which he started saying something but lucky for me his cell service was crappy and I couldn’t understand a word he said. So I quickly hung up the phone and grabbed the boys and was out the door to investigate as to where in fact this fire was at. 10 minutes later I was able to find another guy who works on the same place as we do and he told me where it was. So i had to drive all the way back home to use the phone and call Tim and tell him to get his butt home to come help fight the fire( what a hero). I then drive back down the road about a mile and there it was literally right next to the property owners house.
Here is some information about the property in which we live on. It is a cattle ranch and its official name is Circle Cross Ranch. We breed about 2500 Angus cross cows on about a 15,000 acre area. The homes down in this area are right next to the Niobrara River which just happens to be in a canyon area surrounded by some steep cliffs and lots and lots of pine trees which are awesome except for when fires start.
So with that said the fire has burned about 50 acres but could be more since I have not received any word as to the exact amount since Wednesday night. The cliff behind the owners house and with all the lovely pine needles that blanket the ground did not help with the fire that could easily have become a nightmare more than it already was. We are speculating that some guys from Cherry Todd Electric Co., who were working on some power lines right next to the house, didn’t ground the pole/lines so therefore, that is what initially caused the fire.
I had planned on going and taking pictures but once again my camera is pretty crappy and doesn’t want to really take any picture even with new batteries. So I guess I will figure something out or get it to work to take at least one. If that works then I will post them.
Sorry if this was long but thought I try to explain the whole event in the least amount of time without going into to much details.
